β-Pinene Derived Products With Enhanced In Vitro Antimicrobial Activity

نویسندگان

چکیده

The development of new antimicrobials has always been a research hotspot. In this study, β-pinene-based derivatives were synthesized, and their antimicrobial activity was evaluated. purpose to develop some novel, promising fungicides. Three β-pinene containing bis-hydronopyl prepared, antifungal antibacterial activities evaluated against 6 plant pathogenic fungi 4 bacterial species; preliminary structure-activity relationship is discussed. results indicated that the blend alkyl group had potent inhibitory fungal pathogens bacteria. Among these molecules, dimethyl ammonium bromide showed excellent effects on Colletotrichum acutatum with half-maximal effective concentration 0.538 µg/mL, which lower than carbendazim. Scanning electron microscope after administration (compound 3a), C. mycelia sunken deformed in comparison control group. Furthermore, methyl better those ethyl derivatives. These provide insights into inhibition bacteria by derivatives, may lead them be used as precursor molecules for novel pesticides further research.

Antimicrobial activity of natural products against Clostridium difficile in vitro.

AIMS To investigate the antimicrobial activity of various natural products against Clostridium difficile in vitro. METHODS AND RESULTS The antibacterial activity of 20 natural products was determined by the agar well diffusion and broth microdilution assays against four C. difficile strains, three comparator organisms and four gastrointestinal commensal organisms. Of the raw natural products,...

Biological activities of α-pinene and β-pinene enantiomers.

The antimicrobial activities of the isomers and enantiomers of pinene were evaluated against bacterial and fungal cells. The agar diffusion test showed that only the positive enantiomers of the α- and β-isomers of pinene were active. The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal microbicidal concentration (MMC) of these monoterpenes were also determined, confirming that the positive en...

Berberine nanoparticles with enhanced in vitro bioavailability: characterization and antimicrobial activity

Background Berberine is an isoquinoline alkaloid widely used in Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine to treat illnesses such as hypertension and inflammatory conditions, and as an anticancer and hepato-protective agent. Berberine has low oral bioavailability due to poor aqueous solubility and insufficient dissolution rate, which can reduce the efficacy of drugs taken orally. In this study,...
